18 before 18

I have seen these lists often in the blogger world, and as I celebrated my 17th birthday 2 weeks ago, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do things I have always wanted to do, to make some changes and keep myself accountable for them here on this blog! So here are my 18 things to do before I turn 18. This is in no particular order, just how I thought of them.

1) Read my entire collection from Edgar Allan Poe
He has been my favorite author for a long time, and 2 years ago my brother bought me this huge book with all of his published stories and poems, and I have never read the whole thing.

2) Journal every single day
I have been doing good at this, maybe not every but very often. I want to document my life haha.

3) Write a compilation of 12 stories.
I'll post those here every month. I want to work on this part of my writing!

4) Be a successful blogger.
This comes with time and effort, I am slowly but surely getting there.

5) Become an avid money saver.
This needs no explanation, who doesn't need to save money?

6) Become completely toned and fit, get my body fat under 20%

7) Teach myself to be ambidextrous.
What if I'm in some horrible accident that cuts off my right hand? I need to know how to write with my left! And I thought it would be fun.

8) Continue in my effort to make a difference, to never be indifferent, to be a helping caring person.

9) To be completely clean for 12 months.

10) Learn to speak German
I am taking German in college this year, so that's a start.

11) Bench press 135
I will not reveal my current bench press because it's embarrassing, but I am going to reach this goal if I have to kill somebody!

12) Write a 52 week devotional
I will put one or two up monthly.

13) Practice being slow to speak and slow to wrath

14) Visit somewhere I've never been
This was going to be "Go to Germany again" or "Go to Africa", but those both cost a lot of money that I don't have. So we'll suffice with this.

15) Go to a WarHouse Gym camp and Meet Dana Linn Bailey.
This would make my year. I would love for this to happen.

16) Give my all in everything
I sometimes go at life halfheartedly, but I want to tackle things and give them my all.

17) Actually compose something beautiful
I have played piano for 12 years, and I would love to take a step further and write something.

18) Grow closer to God and mature Spiritually.
This one will be a goal for every single year of my life.

I can't wait to update you soon and see how this goes!!!

Coffee with Kaydee: 12-3-14

Hello, it's been a minute.

I haven't written here in over a week! I was super busy with finishing up my classes, traveling, and celebrating Thanksgiving. It was a lovely Thanksgiving with lots of food, coffee, Rock Band, Black Friday Shopping, and Mockingjay Part 1. Lovely indeed.

But I'm taking time out of my completely open schedule to drink from my adorable owl Christmas mug and spend some time writing here.

I have so much I want to put into this post! I am so excited for the new year. There will be some fun changes to the blog, and I'm really happy to be working on it. Of course, to you it might not seem any different, but to me it's new and better and fun. I was planning it all out, and I wanted to be posting regularly three times a week, and today it hit me. I am going to be so busy next year, what with starting a new job and going to school on campus and possibly doing teen girls Bible study again, I don't know if I'll be able to post so often because I want to do my very best--in everything. That means putting more time and effort into each post, more time into homework and studying, doing my best at whatever job I get. Posting three times seems to be a bit daunting with all of that going on. While the plans are still being worked on and perfecting, the excitement builds. This little blog has been going for 13 months today, and that is so awesome. Happy 1st Birthday Owl Be Hawkward.

I haven't done a thankfulness bit in a while, and since we just said goodbye to Thanksgiving I think it's appropriate to write out the things I'm thankful for.

1) My Best Friend and gym buddy, Shana
She's the greatest motivator, comedian, and true blue friend of who knows how many years. She never ceases to make me smile, make me cry, make me feel better, make me work harder. She is my other half, and without her I'd be lost.

2) The massive store of memories I have procured from a trip to Germany
Everything makes me think of my time there, and I ache to go back. I will be forever thankful for the time I spent in that beautiful country.

3) The Teen Girl's Bible Study my best friend and I host
Every Tuesday night is a blessing, and being apart of these girls' lives is one thing I won't take for granted. I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve God through this.

4)  Adorable coffee mugs
It sounds silly, but they make my day great. If I only received cute coffee mugs as gifts for the rest of my life I would not complain. My collection is growing.

5) My blogs
I love this part of my life, taking time to write and put it out there for you all to see. It's wonderful and fun. I'm thankful the internet has this space and that I am apart of it, even if it is only a small part.

Here's a quick catch up on project work-out:

Almost finished with the squat challenge! We're on day 27, I can't believe I've almost done it! When we're done I'm going to start the beach body challenge and the little black dress challenge. I need to get in shape before my brother graduates from bootcamp on January 23rd! I'm also on day 15 of the running challenge. This challenges are great because they provide such a sense of accomplishment!

I've also been doing free weights as usual. Feeling pretty good!
