April Playlist

I've always been an obsessive music listener. And by that I mean that I listen to the same 10 songs for a month over and over again. I also go through genre phases, I only listen to one genre for 6 weeks and then I'm suddenly totally over it.

I thought I'd grab a cup of my favorite blend and share with you my playlist!

Recently the Justins have had my ears.

Justin Timberlake:

My Love
I heard this song on the radio and it is so catchy and swaggy! (best word I could find), and after that I continued to listen to JT and now I am obsessed.

Amnesia
This song is 7 minutes long, but it changes its sound in the middle and it totally tickles my fancy. It's so good. Thank you Justin for your talent!

What Goes Around.../...Comes Around Interlude
I literally can't elaborate on this song because it's just so good. I've noticed that JT's songs are really long, but I don't mind because they are perfect.

Justin Bieber:

This started when I watched the Justin Bieber Roast on Comedy Central  (poor guy). Like any other girl, at 13 I loved JB's jams and I still know 'Baby' by heart. I got curious about his more recent music so I went to Spotify and began listening to his album Journals. I found it was pretty groovy and fit into my genre obsession at the moment!

Bad Day
This is just such a chill song! It is so relaxing and shows off JB's smooth voice. I'm not ashamed to say that I listen to JB, because he's got some talent.

What's Hatnin'
Oh, this song! I don't have a clue what it's about but I know that it's swaggy and I like it! I don't even know what "hatnin" means...however I still listen to this song daily! Way to go JB, I'm still on your team bro!

Milky Chance:

I started listening to these guys last year because their single "Stolen Dance" was free on iTunes...turns out they have more than one good song!

Sadnecessary
This song is the definition of good vibes. The beats and sounds just make me want to have a good day. These guys have some really good sounds and I hope they make it big.

Sweet Sun
In a good mood? In a bad mood? Happy? Angry? Listen to this song. You'll change your mind about anything and want to dance. It's groovy!

Shawn Mendes:

This guy has an incredible voice. It's so good! And, his songs are on point.

Stitches
This is the first song I heard by him, it's such a sweet song! The beat it rad, and the acoustic guitar works so well. I really love Shawn's sound. He has some other songs that I like, but I didn't find them until May....

Well, that's my April Playlist! Take a listen to the songs and let me know if you like them!
What are some of your favorite jams at the moment? Tell me in the comments below, I am always looking for new music! I'll be back in June with my May playlist!!

The Inexplicable Gift of His Spirit

How inexplicably humbling it is to know that the God of the universe, the Holy One, the Creator, the perfect and pure Lord, the King of Kings, the Sovereign One, the sinless God, willingly came to live inside me through the Holy Spirit. Me! A wicked, ever-sinning, rebellious, constantly failing, impure, unrighteous, weak, powerless human. He sent His Spirit from the glories and beauty of Heaven to live inside my helpless soul, in this dark and sad world. All because He loves me.

That He would send His Son to die for me was one thing, but to give me His precious self, to dwell in me. God knew from the beginning of time that I would one day come to Him on my knees, begging for His comforting arms in my helpless state.  When He heard my weak and weary cry, He sent His spirit to come inside me and let me rest in His love. He spoke to me Words of safety and promises of His Kingdom.
He said to me, "...Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are Mine." (emphasis added, Isaiah 43:1)

He felt the cold, desolate ache within my heart and gave me warmth and hope. He cleansed me of my impurity and washed away my unrighteousness. He filled me with His strength and showed me His awesome power. His spirit lives within me to comfort and help me. How humbled I am, that His grace toward me is so immense, and that His forgiveness is so endless. How humbled I am, that He wants to dwell in me, and how utterly broken I am for the things I have put Him through.

Ah, but His compassion does not fail, and His mercies!! My friend, they are new every morning! (Lamentations 3:22-23)

His spirit, oh, it never faints, and it is never weary of my struggle! He gives me strength, He gives me power! (Isaiah 40:29)

My sweet reader, He takes your tired and callused hand, and says to you, fear not, I will help you. (Isaiah 41:13)

Remember now, as we each begin a new week of work, finals, training, and whatever else may come our way, that the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in us, and that He will strengthen you, He will help you, and He will uphold you with the right hand of His perfect righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)

If you have not yet believed, please do. Invite His Spirit to come and make you new, and experience the freedom and companionship that He so willingly offers.
